Last Thursday night (26 Feb 09) the "coffeehouse players" in Jalan Bayam gathered and initiated the Blitz Challenge (5 mins / player). This was actually inspired by the Blitz game "Winner takes all" organized by NMCC.
Starting next week (hopefully) the Blitz tourney will be held on weekly basis with maximum 10 players only (due to insufficient place). This will be on first come first served basis. The fees is RM2 for under 18 players and the rest is RM5. The collection will be allocated for the following:
1. 20% will be given to the winner (1st prize only) 2. 30% will be used to subsidized the beverages for players 3. 50% will be accumulated into a fund every week. The fund may be used to purchase new chess set / clocks or books.
This is only a social tourney among coffee house players in Jalan Bayam. However, all are welcome to join if available.
Remember... the weekly gathering is on Thursday starting from 9.30 p.m to 1.00 a.m
